A pop-up makers market celebrating
AAPI Heritage Month

Saturday, May 27, 2023 · 12-4pm · Angel City Brewery

To celebrate AAPI Heritage Month, we’re dedicating this market theme to the elders in our lives that nurture us by keeping us fed. Instead of verbal affirmations like “I love you” or giving hugs, our elders will ask “Did you eat yet?” Raise your hand if you can relate to your po po or lola greeting you by piling food on your plate, or even your dad sneaking peeled fruit onto your desk.

Swing by Angel City Brewery and shop from hand-picked craft vendors from around Southern California pledging a % of their profits to Entwine Community, a nonprofit that provides low-cost mental health services.

Admission to the event is free, but we suggest making a donation of $5 or more. 100% of donations will go to support Entwine Community, a nonprofit that provides accessible mental health care for AAPI communities in the greater Los Angeles area and beyond.

What to expect

Join us for our upcoming AKASSA Makers Market: Did You Eat Yet? at Angel City Brewery in the Los Angeles Arts District. Find our full lineup of local craft vendors from around Southern California below, who will be bringing handmade ceramics, home goods, jewelry, and more. We will also be raffling off prizes throughout the event.

RSVP ahead of the event for a complimentary raffle ticket! You’ll get an additional raffle ticket for every $5 you donate. All proceeds will support Entwine Community – read more about their important work below.

Please note: The raffle is hosted exclusively by AKASSA and is in no way affiliated with Angel City Brewery. Only the goods donated by our makers are eligible to be won in the raffle.

Charity spotlight: Entwine Community

As part of AKASSA Makers Market tradition, we’ve chosen to celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month by donating funds from this upcoming event to Entwine Community. Donations made from admission, raffle ticket purchases, and artist pledges will support Entwine Community’s work by providing low-cost therapy sessions for Asian, Asian American, and multicultural communities in the greater Los Angeles area and beyond.

All participating vendors have pledged to donate at least 5% of their sales to the Entwine Community.
