Santa Clara, CA (Bay Area)

Sunday, May 19th • 11:00am - 4:00pm • Jiaren Cafe

In celebration of AAPI Heritage Month, we’re looking for 10 AAPI-owned small businesses to join our mini makers market. Vendor pledges for this event will be donated back to Jiaren Cafe, a non-profit neighborhood cafe, to support the growth of this community space.

About the Market

Our makers markets feature creators who identify as AAPI-owned or women-owned small businesses. It's our mission to amplify the work of our community by creating space and driving demand to help these types of small businesses grow.

Every AKASSA Makers market is more than just a shopping experience. It's a chance for makers to connect with each other and be motivated to continue pursuing their creative passions. Our markets also celebrate the colorful diversity of our cultures while raising awareness and funds for charitable organizations that support the local AAPI community.

Vendor FAQs

What does my vendor fee include?

Your vendor fee includes a designated vending space, as well as pre-event marketing promotion through digital publications, social media, and in-person flyers. Vendor fees also help us meet venue requirements and manage event logistics.

What happens after I apply?

Once your application has been submitted it’ll take our team about a week to review the information provided. A team member will follow up with your acceptance update and ask any additional questions we might have regarding your application.

Can I share a vendor table?

Please refer to each event’s individual specifications, but in general we allow table sharing. We require each vendor to apply and build out their individual vendor profiles. In your application, please indicate who you will be sharing a space with.

What is the Charity Pledge %?

On top of the flat vendor fees, we require each participating vendor to pledge a minimum of 5% of their event profit to the chosen charity per event. This model is part of our mission to collectively rise up and give back to local charities that are directly supporting the community through services and programs. It is our hope that vendors participating in our markets not only want to sell and grow their business, but can find a way to reconnect with the surrounding areas through nonprofits.
